Thailand's volleyball team eased past South Korea 3-0 yesterday in their fourth match of Pool B at the 2022 FIVB Women's World Championship in Gdansk, Poland.

Thailand, ranked No.14 in the world, followed up their victory over Croatia on Wednesday with another 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-14) win over Asian rivals South Korea.

Pimpichaya Kokram was Thailand's top scorer with 21 points while Ajcharaporn Kongyot added 12 points.

Park Jeong-Ah was South Korea's best scorer with 11 points.

The victory was Thailand's second successive win in Poland after their defeat against the hosts on Tuesday.

Thailand bounced back from their loss Poland with an easy 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-11) win over Croatia on Wednesday in their third match of Pool B.

Thailand upset world No.6 Turkey 3-2 in their first match on Saturday in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

Ajcharaporn was Thailand's top scorer with 22 points while Chatchu-on Moksri added 14 points against Croatia.

Samanta Fabris was the highest point scorer for Croatia with 13 points while Mika Grbavica had six points.

It was Thailand's second win over Croatia. Their first victory came in 2010 when they also triumphed 3-0.

Great effort

"The players did very well today," said coach Danai Wacharasrimaytakul.

"They put on a great effort despite having so little time to rest after Tuesday's game against Poland," add the Thai coach.

"I have to thank all the coaching staff who worked together so the players can maintain their fitness level and we could get the right result today."

He added, "The players kept their concentration well today and played their own game.

"Croatia also made a lot of mistakes but we were able to cut down the number of errors in our game today."

Ajcharaporn said, "I'm happy we could get the win today.

"Yesterday [Tuesday] against Poland, we played with a lot of pressure but today all the players could play according to the plan and that boosted our confidence."
