Songkran celebrations canceled in Thailand amid COVID-19 pandemic
© Provided by Xinhua BANGKOK, April 14 (Xinhua) -- As Thailand saw a flare-up of COVID-19 infections, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has canceled celebrations of Songkran, the Thai New Year festival. Thailand recorded 965 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing its total tally to 34,575 with 97 deaths, its Center for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said Tuesday.
