Nualphan Lamsam has received an award from the Social Development and Human Security Ministry for sacrifice and contribution to football in Thailand.

The ministry said on Wednesday her dedication to guiding football to success had earned her the award. Through sportsmanship, football and other sports set an example for younger generations, it said.

Nualphan, widely known as Madam Pang, is the chief executive officer of Muang Thai Insurance Plc. She has been prominent in the Thai football world since making history by guiding the women's national team to two Fifa Women's World Cups as team manager in 2015 and 2019.

The Football Association of Thailand later appointed her general manager of the men's team. She brought in Mano Polking as the new coach, who steered Thailand to win the Suzuki Cup for the first time in four years.

Under her management, the War Elephants lost to Vietnam in the final of the SEA Games but qualified for the 2023 finals of the AFC Asian Cup.

"Thank you very much," she said on her Facebook page.

Nualphan is also chairwoman of Thai Lague 1 team Port FC.
