Two major flood disasters have struck Asia at around the same time. In Southeast Asia, Cyclone Senyar and intense monsoon rain caused widespread flooding in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. Indonesia has recorded at least 600 deaths, over 450 missing and more than 575 thousand evacuees.
