Thailand welcomed 30.27 million foreign tourists between January 1 and December 7. This marks a 7.19% decrease compared to the previous year. Malaysia led as the top source market with 4.23 million visitors. China followed closely with 4.18 million arrivals. The nation aims for 33 million visitors this year.

In November, the National Economic and Social Development Council maintained its forecast for foreign tourist arrivals this year at 33 million. Thailand saw a record of nearly 40 million visitors in 2019, before the pandemic.
