    Featuring 34 paintings and three sculptures, the showcase marks the first-ever large-scale exhibition of Bangladeshi artists in Bangkok

    Gallery Kaya, in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Thailand, launched a major exhibition of Bangladeshi art at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) yesterday. The inauguration, held on 2 December, was attended by diplomats, artists, and art enthusiasts.

    Featuring 34 paintings and three sculptures, the showcase marks the first-ever large-scale exhibition of Bangladeshi artists in Bangkok. 

    The participating artists include Abdus Shakoor Shah, Ashraful Hasan, Chandra Shekhar Dey, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Ivy Zaman, Jamal Ahmed, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa, Mohammad Iqbal, Ranjit Das, Shambhu Acharya, and Sheikh Afzal Hossain.

    Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Thailand, Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, said the event was made possible through “truly public–private collaboration.”

    The exhibition will remain open to visitors at BACC until 14 December.
