BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has reported positive signs for Thailand’s tourism sector following strong results from the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) “Thailand Summer Blast” campaign.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn met with TAT executives to review TAT’s operational progress at TAT headquarters. The “Thailand Summer Blast” campaign successfully attracted 1,000 charter flights from secondary cities in China—such as Xi’an, Chengdu, Kunming, Changsha, Wuxi, and Linyi—and is expected to bring more than 50,000 incentive travelers from late 2025 to early 2026. Joint promotions with commercial airlines from various regions have generated over 348,000 passengers, while global carriers have launched new routes and increased flight frequencies to Thailand, contributing at least 170 flights per week from October 2025 to January 2026.
TAT has also partnered with major online travel platforms, including Ctrip, Tuniu, Fliggy, Qunar, and Klook, generating more than 8 billion baht in online tourism sales. Minister Attakorn emphasized that these measures reinforce tourism as a key engine for economic growth.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool added that TAT will propose the “Buy International, Free Thailand Domestic Flights” program to the Cabinet to align with the Quick Big Win initiative, offering complimentary domestic flights to international tourists who purchase standard international tickets to Thailand. The campaign is expected to run from January to April 2026.
TAT is organizing major tourism events nationwide. Vijit Chao Phraya 2025, running from November 9 to December 23 under the theme “ The Light of Siam: The Mother of the Land,” has already welcomed more than 183,000 visitors and generated 703 million baht in economic activity.
The Amazing Thailand Marathon 2025, set for 30 November and featuring world-renowned Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge, has attracted more than 48,000 registrants and is projected to create over 1.459 billion baht in circulation.
TAT is also preparing New Year festivals, including Amazing Thailand Phayao Countdown Flora Fest 2026 in Phayao and Amazing Thailand Su-ngai Kolok Countdown 2026 in Narathiwat, while supporting major countdown events at ICONSIAM, Central World, and One Bangkok—strengthening Thailand’s position as a global countdown destination.
