BANGKOK, Thailand – The Sports Authority of Thailand has revealed the official medal design for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games (9-20 December 2025) and 13th ASEAN Para Games (20-26 January 2026), marking a significant milestone in Thailand’s preparation as host nation.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, presented the medal collection, emphasizing that each piece embodies beauty, durability, and serves as a symbol of athletic pride under the concept “PLAY BY THE RULES”.
The design showcases Thailand’s cultural identity through a thoughtful fusion of traditional Thai grid patterns (Krid) with modern sports field lines. This artistic marriage represents not only Thailand’s role as host across the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, Chonburi, and Songkhla, but also reflects the spirit of cooperation among ASEAN nations in the region.
Crafted with precision, each medal measures 8.5 centimeters in diameter and 0.8 centimeters in thickness. The medals feature impact-resistant construction with durable gold, silver, and nickel plating that ensures longevity. The front displays the SEA Games 2025 logo, while the reverse bears the SEA Games Federation emblem alongside event details.
The background pattern draws inspiration from traditional Thai weaving, symbolizing the intricate bonds of friendship woven among athletes across Southeast Asia. These interlacing lines represent cooperation, unity, and the continuity of the regional sporting community—a visual reminder of how sports transcend borders to connect people, cultures, and national pride.
The 13th ASEAN Para Games medals, scheduled for 20-26 January 2025 in Nakhon Ratchasima, will feature an identical design with only the logos and symbols adapted for the event.
Dr. Kongsak emphasized that every aspect of the production process prioritizes standards, quality, and durability, expressing confidence that these medals will become cherished symbols of victory and pride for every athlete who earns them. (PRD)
