BRUSSELS – Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow has led the Thai delegation to the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (IPMF) in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting, held under the theme “Building together a resilient, prosperous and secure future,” brought together ministerial-level representatives from more than 70 countries.
As the representative of the Asia-Pacific region, the Foreign Affairs Minister delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of strengthening constructive engagement between Europe and the Indo-Pacific to advance shared security, prosperity, and peace. He stressed the need to uphold a rules-based international order; promote predictable, fair, and reliable economic arrangements; enhance cooperation in addressing security challenges; and support the development of green and digital economies. The Minister also reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to host the International Conference on Global Partnership against Online Scams in December 2025 as a platform to strengthen international cooperation in combating online fraud.
The Foreign Affairs Minister later delivered a statement during the roundtable session on “Security Priorities in the Face of Current Geopolitical Developments.” He emphasized Thailand’s commitment to promoting global stability by safeguarding a rules-based international order, preserving strategic autonomy, and expanding cooperation to address non-traditional security threats, particularly transnational crime.
The EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum, established by the European Union in 2021, serves as an annual platform for strategic dialogue and the deepening of partnerships between the EU and countries across the Indo-Pacific region. (NNT)
