    Mega Star Arena Founder Paul Wong Killed In Car Crash In Thailand

    The Malaysian entertainment scene mourns the death of an influential figure in the industry. Paul Wong (黄志明), the founder of Mega Star Arena at Sungei Wang Plaza, was killed in a car accident in Thailand on 22nd November 2025 (Saturday). He was 56 years old.

    Paul’s family announced the devastating news through his Facebook page. The obituary writes, “By the grace of God, we announce the passing of Mr Paul Wong Chee Meng, founder and chairman of MegaStar Arena Kuala Lumpur and Mega Group, a highly respected pioneer in Malaysia’s entertainment industry, who passed away in Thailand on 22nd November 2025 due to an accident.”

    The post continues honouring the late media figure, saying, “Mr Paul Wong was not only a driving force in the entertainment world but also a visionary leader and a devoted family man. He breathed new life into Malaysia’s entertainment landscape and helped nurture countless outstanding projects and talents. His passing is a tremendous loss to the industry and a deep pain in our hearts. His charisma, leadership, and passion left a legacy.”

    Many friends and longtime partners have shared tributes to Paul on social media, mourning his death and recalling his dedication to the local music industry. Supermodel Amber Chia, influencer Perry Kuan and local television station 8TV were amongst those who shared tributes and condolences. Besides his work in the entertainment scene, Paul was also a fond motorcyclist and an active member of his church.

    According to news reports, a memorial service for Paul is scheduled for four days, beginning on 26th November 2025 (Wednesday), at the Nirvana Memorial Centre. The funeral will take place on 29th November 2025 (Saturday). The public could pay their respects on the last day of the memorial service. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife Fanny Chia, and their four children: Billy, Jacky, Monique and Eason.
