CPN's expansion through the opening of Central Ayutthaya is expected to help create a substantial impact in terms of both the local economy and tourism.

Central Pattana (CPN), Thailand's leading real estate developer, is planning to officially open a new shopping centre -- Central Ayutthaya -- on Nov 30.

CPN has implemented the highest level of public health and hygiene measures, and is aiming for a 100% vaccination rate for staff members at both Central Ayutthaya and Central Siracha, another new shopping centre scheduled to be opened on Oct 27.

Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, executive vice-president of marketing at CPN, said the company plans to continue pushing new projects to move the country towards recovery, especially for the overall economy and tourism sector.

"We will utilise our strength to tap into cities and areas which are key economic hubs with high potential," he said.

Mr Nattakit added that Central Ayutthaya has carefully assessed the circumstances with plans to handle potential situations, while fully cooperating with the authorities. CPN's shopping centres and stores will operate under the highest level of public health and hygiene measures, with all staff members vaccinated before the opening, he said.

CPN has been a key force in hosting vaccination centres and supporting public health programmes of governmental agencies.

As a large and leading player in the real estate sector, Mr Nattakit said CPN can create a huge positive impact on the economy and tourism sector with its expansion.

For example, Central Ayutthaya will cater to the recovery of retail businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and create jobs and incomes for community members. CPN also hopes that the shopping centre will help Ayutthaya become one of the first provinces to see a rebound in tourism.

CPN sees Central Ayutthaya as the destination and centre of the province that will complete the whole tourism ecosystem. Being a transportation hub, tourism information centre and cultural space, Central Ayutthaya will act as both the starting and ending points for various forms of tourism in Ayutthaya such as short trips, one-night trips and day-to-night visits, said Mr Nattakit.

"We hope Central Ayutthaya will create sustainable income for the local community, help highlight Ayutthaya as a top tourist destination with a Unesco World Heritage site status, and prepare the country and tourism sector for a rebound after restrictions are lifted."
