KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese shuttlers continued their winning streak at the Malaysia Open 2022, advancing into the semifinals in several categories on Friday.

Olympic gold medalist Chen Yufei outplayed Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 14-21, 21-18, 21-18 in a close match lasting over an hour in the women's singles, while her compatriot Wang Zhiyi beat out Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark in another quarterfinal.

Elsewhere, women's doubles pair Zhang Shuxian/Zheng Yu beat their Indonesian opponents 21-13, 21-14 while mixed doubles pair Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong beat their French counterparts 25-23, 22-20.

The Chinese team did not get through in the men's singles, men's doubles, with men's singles shuttler Lu Guangzu losing out to Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn.
